Weipa

It is an easy drive from Bramwell Station to Weipa, well it is if you don't have a hangover!! We took a bit of a shortcut through Batavia Downs Station where the views were distant and beautiful.
We stayed in a caravan park in Weipa right on the beach, where at night there were dingos running. We heard from a local they had lost 5 dogs in 2 weeks to salties. Gulp. Needless to say, we stayed away from the water.

We went on a very interesting tour of the bauxite mine in Weipa, which really is the reason Weipa is there at all.
